Our Processing Plant

Hearts of palm are produced by highly trained technicians and employees in expropalm’s processing facility.

Part of the equipment making our plant different from others is:

  • Pressurized system that absorbs filtered air into the processing plant. Which Prevents insects or volatile materials from entering the processing area.
  • Brine dosification cascade: ensures that the right amount of brine solution is poured into each container.
  • Automatic sterilization system: Eradicates potential human errors during this critical process.
  • On-line quality control points: ensures that every Tsabo hearts of palm product meets stringent quality control standards making Tsabo hearts of palm different from others.
  • And the most important “Equipment” at EXPROPALM is our people, an enthusiastic team committed to quality and customer satisfaction.

Our State of the art Processing Plant

-Green Area
EXPROPALM S.A. processes only select hearts of palm that arrive at our receiving area, known as the Green Area. There, stems undergo a blanching process, which gives our product its unique texture and crunchiness. Afterwards, each stem is carefully peeled to expose the tender heart of palm.




 

-White Area
The peeled hearts of palm then go to the internal process area, where they are washed. Each stem is cut into pieces, and each piece is carefully selected by a trained operator.
Afterwards, the selected pieces of hearts of palm are packed into jars and cans. Each container is filled with brine solution (water, salt and citric acid). The containers are sealed and sterilized in vertical autoclaves, which are controlled by an automatic sterilization system. The whole production process follows strict quality specifications guided by our HACCP and ISO systems.
